We are 100 dogs

Blog | Animal Welfare | Street dogs in Brazil

The project "100Dogs" is a private project to rescue and take in stray dogs in Brazil which was created in 2013. We are a group of 4 people who actively participate in the project and give it all their strength and money.

It is a 100% private project and we rely on private, voluntary donations.

The plight of the donations wasn't planned at first, but unfortunately it turned out that way. Unfortunately, founding an association is out of the question for us, because the associated bureaucratic circumstances regarding the management of an official dog home in terms of animal welfare are not compatible. The legislation to that effect intersect with the actual goal of "animal protection". The killing of dogs - which are not mediated within 20 days - is not literally written down in Brazilian law, but it is politically correctly described and unfortunately very often lived in exactly the same way by animal welfare organizations/NGOs.

Just keeping the "100Dogs" project in the status: "private" contributes more to animal welfare than most people think. With this blog we want to call on people to not only rely on clubs and organizations if animal welfare is important to them. It is and is becoming more and more important to promote and maintain private projects.

We show the dogs of our sanctuary, our progress, the difficulties associated with it and hope for support!
