(Menininha sunbathing in the morning sun)
As is well known, Brazil is a "sunny country", which keeps itself around the plus degrees even in winter. However, climate change does not stop there either. At the moment we are sometimes struggling with freezing temperatures, frost and even snowfall in parts of Brazil. Another difficulty for our project and the circumstances on site for the dogs and helpers. We pray every day that the water pumps will not be affected and that they will remain intact and that we will continue to supply us with water without incurring new costs for repairs or new purchases.
(morning frost in our dog shelter)
The dogs at least all have a place in huts and houses, but these are not isolated. They do protect against wind and rain, but the cold is a force of nature which, firstly, we hardly expected, and secondly, against which there are hardly any means that we can do. That means we have to adjust to this when building the new farm and incorporate measures right at the start of construction that can largely protect the dogs and us from the cold in the future. Unfortunately, building materials can hardly be bought in Brazil to the extent and in the necessity as in Germany. Styrofoam insulation in that sense does not exist there and the possibilities to protect yourself from the cold are rare. This will also be a problem for the whole country in the future.
Pirata Ana Rita
We are currently struggling to keep our dogs healthy and warm, as we have to save a little on everything after buying the car and with the generally higher prices. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for further donations received over the past few weeks, which have helped us not to panic too much. Many thanks to all family, friends and friends of friends who help support our courage for the project !!! In the times when the monthly costs for the project have almost doubled due to various circumstances, it is also twice as helpful when donations are received. Thank you very much from all of us and the dogs !!!
