(March 8th 2022: in the city, out of the window of Ditas sisters house)
After a 38-hour return journey, I arrived back in Germany and my apartment here last Thursday. For me, there will be neither an outward flight nor a return flight that is not marked by mixed feelings. Everyone has mixed feelings, but living with them 24/7 is another thing...
But with everything that's going on in the world and in our project, we generally feel like cats on the roof escaping a flood but don't get ahead because they got stuck.

My stay in our kennel from 03/01/2022 to 04/27/2022 was more tense than ever this time. We were all happy to be together again, especially the dogs were happy and really did somersaults when they jumped wildly at me when I greeted them, but I couldn't catch any of them because the next dog jumped in between. Nevertheless, there were also many partly unexpected, partly unfortunate and also questionable and bad incidents. The global political "flood" also hit us hard and threw us back in our plans and possibilities.

I'm still very upset these days, will start my new job tomorrow and have to get used to everything again. I still need the next few days for myself, but then I will report as soon as possible in the blog, bit by bit, about the past months and events. I can give you a rough overview in bullet points:
positives:
- registration of our piece of land has been done
- I received a Brazilian CPF number
- bought a new freezer
- we are getting weekly donations of food leftovers from a retirement home
- unexpected benefit event from Mr.Steels Dartbar in Bernburg and further donations from friends, acquaintances and animal-loving people (many thanks to everyone here!!!)
negatives:
- registering our country cost us 10,000 reais (at the current exchange rate around €1960,-)
- unexpected repair costs on the car
- condition of our land (overgrown, meter high grass, orchard attacked by wilderness)
- our country is impassable for cement mixer trucks -> project: concrete foundation failed
- the exchange rate between the euro and the Brazilian real has fallen sharply
(from 1€ : 6.5$ to 1€ : 5.1$)
- Federal Police Brazil fine for overstaying travel visa in 2018/2019 -> 10,000Reais
- sabotage of our water pumping system in the dog yard
- nocturnal shooting on our dog yard
- unclear legal situation regarding private projects/private donations
Planned:
- May 2nd: Start of the new job
- plan/construction of the new shelter based on wood construction
- members area on the website
- possibly collecting donations in kind that we could sell second-hand in Germany or Brazil
- find a way for me to work as an English or even German teacher in Brazil
- a short meeting with the winners of the charity tournament in Bernburg
(April 24th 2022: wild growth on our land)
For the future we hope that the whole thing doesn't get out of hand or that we at least find a solution if the situation doesn't change soon or even get worse.
We hope that the previous supporters will not let us down or will find us again.
We hope that we can still manage to leave the old dog farm in time!
Last but not least, we hope that our project will be understood in many ways and by different people and institutions.
