What´s The Meaning Of Christmas?

(Menininha)

For most people, it is now Christmas time, as it is every year at this time. We at the dog sanctuary know that it is Christmas time, but we no longer really know what it means to celebrate Christmas. We are with our loved ones, the dogs, we eat and sleep together, with the dogs. But there are no gifts or extra gifts with us. When we see that many animal shelters post about how many gift packages they receive for their protégés, with toys, nibbles and everything that dogs can be lucky about. Then we look at our own kennel and just want a certain security to be able to continue to care for our protégés, and more than this: in a safer place.

Sometimes we feel ashamed to see that other dogs are doing so well in their facilities to get Christmas presents, and that our loved ones are at most lucky to be alive. That they are lucky that we walk through the rain and mud to give them their daily food and health care, as far as possible. Happy to have the few but very helpful donors!

In order to begin to see and understand the bad circumstances that haunt us at the current dog farm, here are 2 videos that show how the weather alone has been bad for us in recent years. Which hillside location we have to climb every day to bring the food for the dogs, the collected wood for cooking the dog food, the food for Dita and Jade, the medication and everything else to its destination. A destination that is now dangerously threatened by landslides. There are days when I don't know whether to pray for sunshine or not to pray for sunshine. If the rain-soaked soil dries out, the risk of a landslide is even higher with the next rainfall ...

The next picture shows our current dog sanctuary and the soil washed away by the rain (blue line). The red line is where our farm begins, it is about 40m to the blue line. We´re not living on the edge only in financial point of view, even physically we are on the edge.

My biggest task at the moment is to reach as many people as possible with our website, and especially with the "100dogs - 1000People" campaign. We therefore ask everyone who reads this blog to keep sharing it. I have already asked the public media to ask if they can help us to achieve a higher range so that we can achieve our goal, and not only to get our dogs off the street, but also to give them a finally safe place . We still need some help for that! We wish a good christmas time for everyone andhope for the best!

The dogs,

Dita,

Jade,

and Sebastian.
